Claims Presentation Programme
The Dispute Board Federation Claims Preparation Programme take participants in an organised and structured way through construction delay claims, as well as how to present claims related to schedule impacts. These one of the most common types of disputes in the construction industry and despite this they are some of the least understood and frequently complex areas of endeavour in the construction industry.
Delay claims typically relate to unanticipated project events and/or circumstances that usually extend the project and/or prevent work from being performed as originally planned. There are many common causes for schedule delays on a construction project, which include, but are not limited to, mismanagement and administration issues as well as site access restrictions; differing site conditions; permits and approvals; financial problems; defective plans and/or specifications; changes in the work; labour productivity issues; document review/approval; testing/inspections; inclement weather; and force majeure events. To fully understand this subject a clear understanding of the basic elements necessary to substantiate delay claims is invaluable and that is what our trainers seek to impart on each participant.
Participation is limited to only 30 with trainers providing detailed explanation, courses, notes and case studies and leading in-depth discussions. Each participant who successfully completes this training programme is eligible for 12 credit hours by the Dispute Board Federation for its Corporate Panel Member Designation as well as 12 CPD units by the Law Society as well as the Bar Standards Board of England & Wales.
